Climate Change for business
Reducing the borough's carbon footprint is a key priority for the council and businesses have a large role to play in this. Carbon dioxide is the main contributor to climate change and it is important that businesses and individuals contribute towards reducing the amount that is produced. In July 2019 the council declared a climate emergency. It has set a target to make council operations carbon neutral by December 2025 and to work towards making the borough net zero carbon by 2030.
