The Big IoT Hack weekend ran from Friday 26 to Sunday 28 April at DeskLodge, Basing View. Talented teams including digital developers, entrepreneurs and students took part in an intensive but fun weekend to develop new smart technology to address real challenges faced by local residents and businesses.
Participants had the whole weekend to develop a business plan and prototype solution and pitch them to a panel of expert judges who selected a winner. Up for grabs was a chance for the winning team to create a company based on their ideas, with six months’ free business support from SETsquared.
To help, support and inspire throughout the weekend, mentors from Microsoft and Pycom were on hand.
Congratulations went to 'The A Team' on the win who came up with a great idea around cycling monitoring, using data to optimise bike routes and improve road safety.
The weekend was jointly organised by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, the SETsquared Partnership, TechJuice and DeskLodge, which are all part of the #GetLaunched collective.
